Beatles Playing Cards?

I have found in my attic of old trading cards of the Beatles, or at least that is what appears to be. They were a gift from a a long time friend, so do not know much about them. They seem to come with a pack of gum, Bazooka as the cartoons, but I'm not sure. I have a huge pile of them with some doubles. If you are familiar with what I'm talking about you to answer these questions: "They're useful? – What are the cards are rarer than others? – What is the story behind them? or any other information would be great. Thanks for all your help!
